Helen Stone

I juggle 2 x careers and I’m passionate about both.

To some, I am Helen Stone artist and facilitator. To others, I’m Helen Stone writer and editor.

If you are interested in the art-side, use the links above to visit my website and social  – and yes I sell work, loan for shoots, can create artworks to spec for shoots and private clients, as well as undertaking portrait commissions (people and dogs!). Or perhaps come along to one of my classes. I teach painting and drawing in Sussex and at Art Academy, London.

On the editorial side, I have written for most interiors magazines (print and online).

I have produced supplements for brands including Livingetc (Kitchens & Bathrooms)and Homes & Gardens (Kitchens & Bathrooms + Food & Entertaining). I regularly work on editorial developments for the part works market in the areas of craft, food and well-being plus I create brand content. In 2021, a 9-month stint as Interiors Writer for John Lewis The Edit had me covering seasonal favourites from outdoor furniture to sleep campaigns and that all-important Christmas magic.

Before going freelance, I held senior positions on some of the big-name interiors titles including Homes & Gardens, Ideal Home, Country Homes & Interiors and Real Homes; I was also Editor of Beautiful Kitchens (print and online). I have also worked in co-edition book publishing, part works and children’s magazines.
