For 15 years I have written a wide range of pieces for the top selling interiors magazines (including House Beautiful, Ideal Home, Style At Home, Your Home) writing in an accessible style to inspire and inform readers to make their home as good as it can be. Topics regularly included:
DIY: Having remodelled two houses, I have extensive practical DIY experience and understanding. For 6 years “Becky’s Guide to DIY”, my monthly double page featured in Your Home magazine and I currently write the “Homesaver” page in “Style At Home” magazine packed with practical advice, consumer news and top tips for homeowners. As I know how to do the tasks myself, I can explain each process in a fuss-free way so readers can tackle each job with confidence.
INDEPTH FEATURES: I have written numerous guides on subjects such as flooring, decorating, weekend DIY, sewing and upholstery. These are fully researched with discussion, comparison, information and advice to give readers a full understanding of each topic.
MAKEOVER FEATURES: As well as the interior designs to transform rooms from drab to fab, I write the accompanying copy of each makeover so readers can follow the story of the transformation in an easy-to-read, conversational style.
UPCYCLING: I was revamping furniture before it was a trend! My easy to follow projects and designs have featured in “Furniture Facelift” (Your Home magazine) and “Revamps” (Style At Home) for many years.
CRAFTING: I am highly skilled in sewing, upholstery, as well as many handicrafts. My designs and step-by-step pieces have been regularly featured in magazines such as “Love Sewing” and “Sew & Stitch”. All have full written instructions to make the projects fun and achievable.
