Graham & Brown Colour and Design of the year 2025 – Rivington Folly and Elderton

Graham & Brown Colour and Design of the year 2025 – Rivington Folly and EldertonAre You Ready for the 2025 Design of the Year?

A few years ago Graham & Brown decided that just having a colour of the year – or COTY as us insiders like to call it, wasn’t enough and they created their Design of the Year too. Can we call that DOTY?

This really makes sense and it’s one of those ‘why hasn’t someone thought of this before?’ moments. I mean when you choose a wallpaper and want an exact matching paint surely the wallpaper brand is going to be able to do that better than any colour-match machine.

RIVINGTON FOLLY- Design Of The Year

This year’s wallpaper design – Rivington Folly, takes inspiration from Rivington Terraced Gardens, known to Lancashire locals as the lost garden. The in-house design studio focused on the G&B Craft Work trend*,  reusing old techniques.

Graham & Brown Designer, Victoria Davidson, painstakingly created this work of art drawing each element from the columns and archways, to ancient trees, through the landscape and the Rivington skyline line by line. The style is reminiscent of neoclassical etchings.

The deep dark hue of the design gives the Victorian style a modern take. The fact that this is available as a mural just impresses even more. This must have taken hours and hours to design. It’s spectacular.

It makes a pretty spectacular mural don’t you think? You can order the mural to fit your specific dimensions via the Graham and Brown website.

The Rivington Folly wallpaper is also spectacular. Just see the shot below.

Graham And Brown Colour of The Year: Elderton

Graham & Brown Colour and Design of the year 2025 – Rivington Folly and Elderton

Elderton is a deeply natural tone brown colour that perfectly compliments the current season we’re in. This shade takes its name from the Elder Tree which has many varieties, some with deep brown leaves. That is where the inspiration behind this paint colour comes from.

Many people are looking to create a warm and inviting home and the trend for dark brown walls is growing in popularity. No longer seen as “too dark or heavy” the phrase ‘cocooning’ is being used more and more.

As you would expect Elderton perfectly partners with Rivington Folly Dusk. It can be using in any room

Perfect Partners

When I was selecting the shots to include in this feature I couldn’t leave these colour combo ones out. See how seamlessly the wallpaper and shades work together? It makes it really hard to choose just one hue. Which would you go for?
