I’m a big fan of podcasts – I mean I have one because I get so much out of them and I’ve learnt sooooo much from them that I hope that’s what I bring to the table with the Inside Stylists podcast.
Back to school
This week I discovered a new one. Whenever I want to learn something new I always search out podcasts to listen to on the dog walk. I line them up so I can take it all in and be inspired whilst doing something else. That’s the best thing about podcasts for me! Utilising my time to the MAX!
This week it is goal setting. I always find that come September when the kids go back to school it feels a bit like January – that new year/ new school year sets me off with new directions. Fresh ambition to get stuff done now before the end of the year while the kids aren’t around disrupting my nice quiet house.
Pure motivation
Every time I hear something that rings true there’s always a quote attached that motivates me to move forwards, push through barriers (of which there have been plenty setting up Inside Stylists) and I want to share some of them with you today – along with the people podcasts, books or TED Talk speakers who I got them from. I hope you find them as useful and inspiring as I have.
8 quotes to live by to help your interior styling business.
ONE
Plan your tomorrow today – Kate’s Take – Kate Erickson podcast
TWO
You are the sum of the 5 people you spend the most time with – Jim Rohn
THREE
If it’s not a hell yeah, it’s a no– Derek Sivers – Book – Anything you want
Use this rule if you’re often over-committed or too scattered. If you’re not saying “HELL YEAH!” about something, say “no”. When deciding whether to do something, if you feel anything less than “Wow! That would be amazing! Absolutely! Hell yeah!” — then say “no.” When you say no to most things, you leave room in your life to really throw yourself completely into that rare thing that makes you say “HELL YEAH!” Every event you get invited to. Every request to start a new project. If you’re not saying “HELL YEAH!” about it, say “no.” We’re all busy. We’ve all taken on too much. Saying yes to less is the way out.
FOUR
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result – Albert Einstein
FIVE
Whether you think you can or think you can’t you’re right – Henry Ford
SIX
Beans and Rice, Rice and Beans – with- I’ve had it – Dave Ramsey podcast
SEVEN
You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world, there’s still going to be someone who hates peaches. Ditta Von Tesse
EIGHT
What’s the reframe? – Imposter Syndrome – Valarie Young Ted Talk 70% people experience it.
Maya Angelou - I've written 11 books and each time I think oh oh, they're going to find out now, I've run a good game on everybody and they're going to find me out"
So they are my eight quotes. What do you think? Do you have a quote you live by to help keep you focused ang get ahead? I’d love to know what it is. Please share it in the comments.
